Avril broke the news during an exclusive interview with her biggest fansite, confirming that she already has eight songs done with a single in mind that just needs to be re-recorded, before describing the direction of the new album as “pop and more fun again”. We already know that Avril recorded with a lot of top forty producers during the Goodbye Lullaby sessions, including Hip-Hop maestro Alex Da Kid, but almost all of them didn’t make the cut due to her insistence on doing a personal, acoustic record, so a lot of the new material is probably made up of Lullaby leftovers.
